Golf Course Rating

General Overview

Advanced database of the Golf courses through all over the world with the possibility to find and comment each course independently - that was the idea behind this project. The client have provided us the database of golf courses and our task was to design and implement the interface for the project. 

First of all, we have decided to implement the worldmap and split it into world parts, giving the users the possibility to easily locate the Golf course in interest. Based on the flash map selector, we have also added the autosuggested city search and fancy radius selector. Additionally, the user can refine it's selection using the implemented filtration tool for golf course by number of holes, difficulty mark, rating or particular features. The result list and the items found we have integrated with the use of Google Maps API to the interactive map for the users.

The owners of the golf courses also received the possibility to submit their courses to the Website database. Multistep form with the list of all the appropriate fields could be filled in, and the appropriate record will be included into the DB after the approve by the administrator of the resource. 

In order to stand-out from the competitors we have implemented a complicated rating engine for the project, allowing the users to provide the ratings to the particular golf courses and the system will calculate the average score for this course on the basis of the predefined configurable rules.
